Axium Packaging is proud to announce that as of March 10th, 2026, it has been recognized with the 2026 Great Benefits Award from Mployer. The industry-standard for employee benefit plan rating, Mployer measures benefits group benefits and compares them to companies like Axium. The parameters used are employers with at least 1,000 employees in the manufacturing industry.

This award recognizes employers who offer extensive, high-quality benefits that support the security and well-being of their employees. This award focuses on employers benefit offerings through four key categories: being medical, ancillary benefits, retirement plans, paid time off and leave. The Great Benefits award recognizes employers the meet or exceeds market standards across the core categories.

At Axium Packaging, medical plans are market leading. Benefit plan designs at Axium have lower deductibles and out-of-pocket costs than both the companies in the cohort and national benchmarks. Within the cohort Axium has been placed in, employee contributions are more than 30% lower than the average group. Vision plans offer lower exam and material copays compared to similar companies. A wide variety of voluntary benefits, including accident coverage, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and voluntary life insurance are proffered. These selection of benefits offered are considered market competitive.

In 2010, the first Axium Packaging plant was built in Mississauga, Canada. In New Albany, Ohio, where Axium is headquartered, the first plant was built in 2012. Over the next 10 years, Axium expanded their New Albany locations to 7 plants as well as Vertix, a recycling facility. Since 2021, Axium has significantly increased its footprint; from 11 facilities across the United States and Canada to 22 locations today, including two in Mexico. Within these past 5 years, Axium’s U.S. and Canada locations have almost doubled in employees, from 1,862 in 2021 to 3,320 employees as of April 2026.

Axium strives to show appreciation to their employees for their dedication and growth over the years. That is why at the beginning of each year, a Years of Service Award event is held, honoring employees for their hard work over 5-, 10-and 15-year milestones. At this event, leaders from various leaders speak and present their employees with awards. Later in the year, employee appreciation events are held. These events gather employees together to enjoy catered food, music, games and prizes from a raffle. These events allow Axium to express its gratitude for the hard work that drives our shared mission forward. “Our people are our strongest advantage. Axium’s success is a direct reflection of the environment we create for our teams,” says Debbie Kapes, HR Manager at Axium Packaging.

Myployer compares the group benefits of company’s by comparing them to similar organizations. For Axium, this recognition reflects a long-standing strategy of investing intentionally in its workforce. As a leader in the plastic manufacturing industry, this is crucial as talent is a critical driver of performance. From an HR perspective, a strong benefits package goes beyond individual support. Competitive benefits contribute to organizational stability which strengthens the company’s culture.
