SUSTAINABILITY
Axium leads the industry in advancing the use of recycled materials, bioplastics and renewable energy for our customers, employees, communities and planet.
Advancing the Circular Economy
Axium leverages its experience, capabilities and entrepreneurial spirit to meet and exceed our customers’ sustainability goals. Our facilities are built to seamlessly transition between virgin and PCR on all equipment. We continually seek new ways to reduce landfill waste. We invest in next generation equipment and renewable energy initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint.
VERTIX RECYCLING

Axium invested $45 million to build and operate Vertix, our state-of-the-art recycling subsidiary that converts 50 million pounds of recycled plastic packaging into industry-leading post-consumer plastic resin used to manufacture plastic bottles, closuresand other packaging components for our customers.

MATERIAL
ADVANCEMENTS

Our research and development team focuses heavily on advancements in plastic manufacturing to support our customers’ sustainability initiatives.:
- Filler Material for Light-Weighting
- Plant Based Resin
- Bi-Modal Grades
- PCR
- Liquid Colors
- High Concentrate Masterbatches

UNIFORM PRODUCTION PLATFORMS

Axium specializes in EBM, providing state-of-the-art plastic packaging solutions and uniform production platforms across our manufacturing facilities that are ideally suited to run either mono-layer with 100% PCR or multi-layer with PCR incorporated to improve sustainability while keeping the inner or outer layers virgin.

ECO-FRIENDLY TUBES

Axium also specializes in tube extrusion and decoration, with a vertically-integrated platform delivering enhanced customization and reducing production times by 50%. Our high-speed extruders can produce seven-layer tubes at up to 240 per minute. And we can incorporate up to 100% into eco-friendly tube packaging and recycled PP for closures to meet customers’ performance and sustainability goals.

OPTIMIZING CONSUMER PACKAGING

Axium pushes design parameters with innovative engineering and bottle analysis to reduce packaging gram weight and increase the use of PCR plastic without sacrificing strength or performance. The lighter bottles use less virgin resin and allow for more efficient stacking and shipping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

NEAR-SITE MANUFACTURING

Axium’s near-site manufacturing solution can dramatically boost production capacity, reduce your carbon footprint and increase speed to market. When a customer needed to scale fast, we built 36 tools and a 136,000 sq. ft. facility just 16 miles from them, housing 15 new production line, adding 300 million more bottles a year. All in under five months.

FUTURE-PROOFED MANUFACTURING

Axium is one of the largest EBM and ISBM bottle producers in North American utilizing 100% PCR, with Axium facilities and manufacturing lines uniformly configured to run 100% PCR, 100% mixed-color PCR or 100% virgin material. Our plants alsoimprove energy efficiency by utilizing a hybrid cooling system to take advantage of ambient termperatures in the winter to cool down recycled water.
