Axium Packaging Wins New Albany Chamber Award for Outstanding Large Business

NEW ALBANY, Ohio — Axium Packaging, one of the largest plastic packaging companies in North America, has been named a New Albany Chamber of Commerce Delta Award recipient in the Outstanding Large Business category, recognizing the company’s record of sustained growth, industry-leading innovation and deep commitment to community partnership.

As an anchor tenant of the New Albany International Business Park’s Personal Care and Beauty Campus, Axium helped build the city’s reputation as a premier destination for advanced manufacturing and consumer product solutions. Since moving its headquarters from Ontario to New Albany in 2011, Axium has grown to 10 plants in the beauty park alone, encompassing 1.7 million square feet and about 1,200 employees. In fact, Axium is the New Albany Chamber’s first two-time winner of the Delta Award, as it won in the Outstanding Medium Business category in 2017.

“With a track record of sustained growth, commitment to sustainability and deep engagement in its community, Axium exemplifies the qualities celebrated by the Delta Award,” wrote New Albany Company President and CEO William G. Ebbing in his nomination letter. “The company’s success story is not only about expanding facilities or pioneering advanced manufacturing technologies, but also about the enduring partnership between a global leader and the City of New Albany that continues to shape its future.”

Axium is one of the leading plastic packaging manufacturers in North America, known for helping customers meet their unique market needs. Its 31 locations throughout North America produce about 10 billion plastic packaging units annually for domestic and international product companies in a range of consumer categories, including personal and home cleaning supplies, food, pharmaceutical, health care and nutrition products commonly found on store shelves worldwide.

From its New Albany headquarters, the company leads the industry in design, engineering and production of innovative plastic bottles, tubes and components. It also prioritizes sustainability, investing $45 million in recycling subsidiary Vertix, which recycles and converts 50 million pounds of plastic food packaging into post-consumer resin annually.

“New Albany is home for us, and continuing to build here and partner with the city in its economic development efforts is rewarding for our company, our employees and the entire community,” said Axium Co-Founder and President Paul Judge. “Everything we do at our New Albany facilities uses the latest Axium equipment and processing technology, serving as a platform for customers across the globe. We’re thrilled to be a part of this dynamic and incredibly welcoming environment.”

Axium’s dedication to New Albany goes beyond business growth. Judge serves on the board of the New Albany Foundation; Axium Safety Director Scott Mounts is a board member for Healthy New Albany and Axium Executive Vice President Toby Thunberg was named to the New Albany Chamber board. The company is an active contributor to New Albany Schools’ Athletics Program, the McCoy Center and Hinson Amphitheater and the New Albany Chamber of Commerce. Axium also supports the annual New Albany Walking Classic, and in 2025 earned the Healthy New Albany Corporate Chamber Cup for the most company participants.
